- Keep Your Child in Current Placement Until Decision
- Ask in writing that your child stay at their current campus until the ARD team discusses and decides.
- Prepare for the ARD Meeting
- Bring proof of progress (teacher emails, grades, therapy notes).
- List reasons the current placement benefits your child.
- If the ARD Decision is Not in Your Favor
- You have the right to request mediation or file a complaint with TEA.
- You can also seek a Due Process hearing if needed.

Subject: Concern Regarding Proposed Campus Transfer for My Child
Dear Principal and Special Education Director,
I am writing to express my concern regarding the proposed transfer of my child to another campus. While I understand the reasoning provided, I do not agree with this change in placement.
My child has been making positive progress at their current school, where they have access to the services outlined in their IEP. I believe that moving them would disrupt their education, social connections, and the stability they currently have. Additionally, I understand that the necessary services are available at their current school, which makes the transfer unnecessary.
I am formally requesting an ARD meeting to discuss this matter further and explore options to keep my child at their current campus. Until this matter is resolved, I am requesting that their current placement remain in place.
