What Is It?
The Medicaid Buy-In for Working Adults with Disabilities program is designed for people with disabilities who are working but still need Medicaid coverage to help pay for medical care, therapies, and equipment.
It allows them to “buy in” to Medicaid by paying an affordable monthly premium based on their income.
Who Qualifies?
- Must be 18 years or older
- Have a disability as defined by Social Security
- Be working (part-time or full-time)
- Meet income and resource limits set by Texas Health and Human Services
What Does It Cover?
- Full Medicaid benefits
- Doctor visits and hospital care
- Therapies (physical, occupational, speech)
- Prescription medications
- Medical equipment and supplies
