She suddenly found herself
inside a world of glass,
surrounded by water
with nowhere to pass.
She didn’t know how
she had gotten there,
only that the water
was everywhere.
Then came the dolphins,
swimming near and wide,
gliding through the water
on every side.
She felt a little frightened,
not knowing what they’d do,
so she whispered softly
to the One who always knew.
“La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah…”
There is no power or strength except through God.
And then, as if the words
had changed the world,
the water disappeared,
the dolphins were gone.
The ocean became silence.
The sand became dry.
And somehow she was standing
near an opening in the sky.
She moved toward the exit,
but then she turned to see—
the crystal water flowing back,
returning silently.
She thought of all the dolphins
that might return once more,
so she hurried toward the light,
searching for the door.
And just before she reached it,
just before she could step through—
She opened her eyes.
The room was still.
The water was gone.
The dolphins were gone.
But the words remained:
There is no power
and no strength
except through God.
